In 1986, Christina Oakes became a believer in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah). Ten years later, she began living the Messianic Jewish lifestyle, and has been involved with her local Jewish community since 1998. For over twelve years now, she has studied both Biblical and
conversational Hebrew. Ms. Oakes currently assists in leading praise and worship, and acts as cantor for the Tree of Life Messianic Jewish Congregation.
Christina works at Set Free Ministries, a repentance-based parachurch organization, where she serves as Prayer Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. She has also written two books: As It Is Written: Ancient Torah Lessons for the Modern-day Believer (2013), and G-d … Getting to Know Him: Experiencing G-d Through His Names and Titles (2016). In addition, Ms. Oakes has written “Hadassah’s Hints,” a commentary for each week’s Scripture portions on Tree of Life Messianic Jewish Congregation’s web site at www.tolgr.org. Some of her hobbies are studying and discussing Scripture, writing, and singing. Ms. Oakes currently lives in Michigan with her two roommates.
